![]() ![]() See that dark blanket at the end of the bed? I want one. The bedroom was one of the smallest room, but the bed was extremely comfortable. The enormous sinking tub in the middle of the room seemed oddly placed, and the barely frosted glass cut back on privacy a bit, but the lighting was great and there was plenty of closet space. No Bulgari amenities here, but I’m not complaining (much). I’ve never understood the need for a large bathroom, other than to be luxurious in and of itself. Our suite came with a view of both the mountains and the Strip, so we could leave the drapes open on the floor-to-ceiling windows for a view of the entire area. They had a modern appearance but felt warm and comfortable. It was 1,465 square feet and came with a kitchen/dining area attached. We had requested a Penthouse Suite, which also had a living room and dining area. There is plenty of room to spread out and we relaxed in the living room for a while. It was a good place to load up on bottles of water before a day in the heat.Ī bellman accompanied us up to our room and gave us a tour. The ground-floor lounge had snacks and drinks throughout the day. The hotel has a private entrance which leads to the lobby and the Sky Suites lounge. They arranged our car and a limo showed up to get us when we arrived. A few days before our arrival, though, we hadn’t heard from them, so we called. One of the benefits of the Sky Suites is that they pick you up at the airport. Arrival The Sky Suites lounge food and beverages served throughout the day And with 442 rooms, starting at 1,050 square feet, the prices are at the low end of traditional five star hotels. It was simply a more enjoyable place to spend time than the SkyLofts, which always felt a bit cold. The touch pads that control the room are easy to use. The wireless access and air conditioning actually work. Located at Aria in City Center, it’s a Five Diamond hotel with almost as many luxury features as the SkyLofts. The Sky Suites is one of the newer luxury properties in the MGM Portfolio. My previous choice for our annual splurge was the MGM SkyLofts, but I think we’re parting ways with the property. As the old saying goes, ghosts don’t gamble. Given that almost half of the city’s revenue comes from gamblers, room rates are set to encourage visitation. Just like the Sky Suites, the bathroom is a sanctuary, with full-size Creed and Hermès toiletries, a roomy standalone tub set against the window and vanity mirrors floating above the sink that provide sky-high glimpses out the glass panes behind them.One of the nicest things about Las Vegas is that you can stay in luxury for far less than you would in other cities. The villa offers a contemporary and flowing feel with long sofas and benches that snake around the windows, a gray painterly rug, circular ceiling cutouts and art that winds and curves. ARIA Sky SuitesĪmong the VIP villas, seven sprawling 2,000- to 7,000-square-foot spaces were made over by KES Studio (which did the design for another Five-Star all-suite property, L’Ermitage Beverly Hills) to heighten their glamour. But Sky Suites guests get a lot more with their stay: a luxury SUV airport pickup and drop-off (the vehicles use more eco-friendly compressed natural gas), access to a lounge with bites and drinks throughout the day, and the dedicated Sky Pool, all of which are complimentary. The luxury resort also boasts The Spa & Salon at ARIA, the largest Five-Star spa in the world with one-of-a-kind offerings like a shio salt room and heated ganbanyoku beds - it’s the first in the country to feature the Japanese stone beds. ARIA is home to Taiwanese dumpling house Din Tai Fung and old-school Italian eatery Carbone - which are cult favorites for their mouthwatering xiaolongbao (soup dumplings) and spicy rigatoni, respectively - and Jean Georges Steakhouse, which should be a cult favorite for its luscious meats and sauces like the tasty soy miso butter sauce and the light-as-air béarnaise along with its attentive service. What hasn’t changed in the suites are their lavish perks. The revamped Sky Suites are a haven above the city. ![]()
